City of Suffolk Welcomes The White Multi-Purpose Center
SUFFOLK, VA (January 8, 2026) The City of Suffolk is pleased to welcome the White Multi-Purpose Center, a new event venue located at 6142 Whaleyville Blvd., to the community. A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening will be held on January 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with remarks from the mayor.
Owned and operated by Ms. Margie Manley, the White Multi-Purpose Center features a 2,112-square-foot venue designed to comfortably accommodate up to 70 guests. The space features a banquet area, serving room, kitchen, office, and two full bathrooms, providing a flexible and welcoming setting for a wide range of events.
Ms. Manley hopes the center will serve as a gathering place for the community, ideal for hosting wedding receptions, class reunions, baby showers, birthday celebrations, anniversary dinners, retirement dinners, and other special occasions.
The inspiration for the venue came from Ms. Manley’s experience owning a local flower shop in Suffolk, where she was frequently asked about nearby event spaces. She created a venue that would serve the residents of Whaleyville, Gates, and Ahoskie as well as visitors traveling through the corridor. “With its location along a main road, the center is easily accessible and convenient for guests,” she noted.
The White Multi-Purpose Center is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
