City of Suffolk to Host Generation Next Legacy Planning Workshops for Farm and Forest Landowners

Oct 26, 2026

The City of Suffolk Economic Development Department, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Forestry and Virginia Cooperative Extension, will host Generation NEXT Legacy Planning Workshops to help farm and forest landowners plan for the future of their land.

The workshops will take place Thursday, November 5, and Thursday, November 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Downtown Suffolk Library.

Participants will learn from lawyers, accountants, conservation specialists, and other experts about ways to keep their land intact, in farm or forest use, and in the family.

Registration costs $30 for individuals, $50 for two family members, and $25 for each additional family member. Participants will receive dinner on both evenings and a legacy-planning workbook for their family farm.
