SUFFOLK, VIRGINIA (July 8, 2025) Community leaders, residents, and supporters gathered yesterday at 100 Bosley Avenue to celebrate a major milestone for the Charity Care Group: the grand opening of its new facility in Suffolk and the official launch of its nonprofit credit union, Bright Bridge Financial.
Housed in the former Commonwealth Bank building, the newly acquired location marks a pivotal moment in the organization’s 18-year history. Known for its work in special needs transportation and home healthcare, Charity Care Group is expanding its footprint across the Hampton Roads region.
Among the announcements at the event was the awarding of a $1,032,900 HUD grant under the Older Adult Home Modification Program. This funding will power the group’s new initiative, Home Safe: Aging in Place Assistance Program, which aims to improve the safety and independence of low-income seniors through critical home modifications.
Bright Bridge Financial, the group’s new credit union, is set to begin development within the Suffolk facility. It will offer inclusive, mission-driven financial services designed to serve working-class families, seniors, and first-time homeowners.
